Status: Resolved
On February 12, 2026, Encac.com experienced a major service interruption affecting all local host websites and associated network services. The outage resulted in total unavailability of local web interfaces, Shortlink services, and internal DNS resolution. The incident has been traced to a configuration error by our third-party Internet Service Provider (ISP). All services have since been restored and verified as stable.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Primary Cause: Third-Party Vendor Error
The investigation confirmed that the outage was not caused by internal hardware or software failure. The root cause was identified as an improper configuration setting applied by the third-party Internet Service Provider (ISP).
- Specific Trigger: The ISP applied a routing or configuration change at 00:32 that inadvertently blocked or misdirected traffic destined for our local host infrastructure.
- Propagation: This misconfiguration propagated through the network, causing upstream failures in DNS resolution for our local domains.
ServiceImpact Description Local Host Websites|All internally hosted sites were unreachable for end-users and administrators.DNS Resolution|Internal and local DNS requests failed, preventing domain name mapping for local resources.Local Web Services|Intranet portals and local web applications were inaccessible.Shortlink Service|Local URL shortening and redirection services failed to resolve.
Resolution & Recovery
- Detection: Monitoring systems alerted the Network Operations Center (NOC) of connectivity loss shortly after 00:32.
- Investigation: Internal teams verified local server health (which was nominal) and isolated the issue to the external network gateway.
- Escalation: The issue was escalated to the third-party ISP support team.
- Fix Implementation: The ISP identified the erroneous configuration setting and rolled back the changes.
- Restoration: Connectivity was restored at approximately 19:00.
- Verification: Internal teams conducted testing on DNS resolution and web accessibility. Full service stability was confirmed at 19:10.
